Got Funds?

IMG_2369
Liz Daley was one amazing person, beloved by all she met and even some she never did, and her passing last year is still so hard to comprehend. Without delving into too many cliches she crammed as much  life as she could into the days she had, and all in such a gracious and inspiring manner. The good people of Tacoma, USA are looking to continue her legacy and are raising funds in her name to build an outdoor climbing wall in Tacoma and to create a facility to encourage more people into discovering climbing and the outdoors. As someone who is new to climbing but incredibly passionate about it I think this is great and that we all should get involved! So check out the link, see what you think for yourself and if you do decide to bid on any of the great prizes hey thats great!! Have a good day regardless world, Im off to go climb a rock myself. Why? I have no idea other than because its fun!

So in case ya didnt notice, its been dumping a bunch of snow on Treble Cone of late, so I hooked up with John Jo at Flashworks Media and we spent a banger day ripping cold dry powder to shreds, see moving pictures below. Adios, its time to feast on mexican food with the north face crew. Peace!

NZ JUNIOR BADASSES

So last weekend I spent the weekend being thoroughly out frothed by the new wave of NZ skiers, the ever stoked GROMMETS! Dion Newport, being the considerate chap he is, had constructed the first of its kind, the inaugural NZ Junior Freeride series, or NZJFT for short. For once I wont blather on, you can just kick back and finish the working week out in style with the video below. Though I will say, if I was this good at that age who knows what I could do now! So watch out world, heres the NZJFT!!!

What happens when 3 carloads of reprobates descend on Mt Olympus for a weekend?  Nothing serious thats for damn sure. With a large storm promising roughly half a metre the call was made and a large contingent of the All Us in Winterland film crew and friends rolled up the beautiful valley system with high hopes. Unfortunately as oft happens in NZ mother nature keeps no promises but man did we have a ball regardless. Hunting out the little pockets of fresh, hidden inbetween sheets of boiler ice, we rolled around the field in a crew with a revolving door cast, too many to name all but some being the local classic characters Tom Brownlee and the McDermid brothers, FWT skier Charlie Lyons, part time Lawyer and full time fun chaser Blake Lepper and a host of other legends. There was nighttime slash turn sessions, lengthy discussions on all things skiing and other wise, huge plates of hearty winter feasts, halftime beersies, the most hilariously shit attempts at ski photos by Blake and myself, shouty games of gin, high wind drone flying and even a Madamme Lyons wild cross dressing appearance. At Mt Olympus the emphasis is on having

ALL THE FUN. ALL THE TIME.

While we didn’t quite get the snow we hoped for the whole olympus scene was immensely mirthful. Those lads up in Cantebury sure know about skiing roots style and I’ll be back in two weeks time to try cram as many more good times in.
